Often, people tend to use polish for the purpose of polishing or cleaning the silver jewelries. 1) One of the most common ways to clean silver utensils is with aluminum. Take a pan or a bowl and line it with an aluminum foil. Once the lining is done, pour hot water on it and add salt until it is dissolved. Then put the jewelry in, and fold the aluminum foil. Leave them for a while and then, dry them with a soft cloth.
2) Warm water and mild detergent can also be very useful in cleaning the silver ornaments. Just do not use any type of abrasive chemicals as they can damage the silver.
Please note: The aluminum foil method for cleaning and polishing silver jewelry should not be used for jewelries with any stones or those that have an antique look. The stone could be damaged or the antique or oxidized silver can also be removed when the tarnish is washed away.
